The trends are clearThe digital printing market is in a state of flux. Drupa 2008 pointed the way as a striking demonstration of the available potential and the impending development steps.
There is little to add to the debate about colour, which has now become a standard feature of the digital printing process. Indeed, with its POPP6 generation modules, Hunkeler has shown that the quality of full-colour products is now guaranteed right down the line thanks to gentle finishing processes.
Next to influence the course of development, however, will be the increasing production speeds and the growth in web widths in continuous-feed digital printing, along with larger formats in the sheet-fed area. When it comes to processing demanding papers in a wide range of grammages and every surface type, colour and quality will remain to be demands at the forefront.
