Expectations 2009 far exceededLucerne, 19. February 2009 - innovationdays.2009 was a big success. Despite the difficult economic climate, Hunkeler and its partners were able to welcome more than 4500 guests from all over Europe as well as Russia, Asia, the USA and South America.

Notwithstanding the record number of visitors, innovationdays remains a clear and concise special-interest event. A professional, international audience was richly rewarded for making the journey to Lucerne. More than 60 exhibitors with total solutions in a wide range of configurations showed where developments in and around modern paper processing are headed. Within a concentrated space, practical solutions for print-on-demand, computer center applications, direct-mail production, web finishing and paper disposal were showcased in an interdisciplinary context. Amongst the high points were quality assurance with the WI6 Web Inspection system across all production and line types, the new POPP7 generation for paper widths of 660 mm, inline gluing of book blocks in book-on-demand, plus new enhancement applications on the modular Variweb system. Furthermore, with its new generation of control systems, Hunkeler gave an impressive demonstration of its readiness to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
